Poodle Puppies For Sale

Find yourself constantly searching “Standard Poodles for sale near me” with no luck finding a reputable breeder? Then Poodles of Willow Glade are the breeders for you. We are a Standard Poodle breeder, responsibly raising healthy puppies. We strive to be the number one breeder in your area to help you find your dream Standard Poodle puppies for sale across the United States.

The breeds background

They are one of the most popular dog breeds in The United States and for a good reason. They were originally hunting dogs in northern Europe, originating in Germany and France. They are now often used in service and therapy work because of their loving and pleasant personalities. This is what makes them great pets as well, as their loyalty makes them attach to you and your family for their entire lifetime.

Why buy a Standard Poodle puppy

One of the best things about a Standard Poodle is that they have hair instead of fur. People’s number one problem with owning a puppy is that they shed and leave hair on everything and everyone. A Standard Poodle does not have this problem as they do not lose as much hair like other breeds. Since they have hair, they are also a hypoallergenic dog breed. This means that they will not cause an allergic reaction among your family members or guests.

Your puppy will also be extremely easy to train since they are such an intelligent breed. You can easily housetrain them and teach them your house rules yourself. However, If you would prefer a professional puppy trainer, we can recommend one for you.

How to take care of your new puppy

Since Standard Poodles are such an intelligent breed, you will need to challenge and stimulate them mentally, so they remain happy. This can easily be done with stimulating dog toys and games, or simply by taking your puppy out to places like the local dog park, for a long walk, or a quick jog.

parmaleeA Standard Poodle needs to stay active, without activity, they will get bored and restless, leading them to find an outlet for their energy by themselves. This could lead to potential messes in your home, so if you don’t have the time or space to let your Standard Poodle puppy run around, it may not be the puppy breed for you.

As mentioned before, the Standard Poodle has hair that needs to be taken care of in a specific way. They have naturally curly hair, which can almost be as tiresome to maintain as human hair. It needs to be brushed every day at home to prevent matting, tangles, or even worse, skin infections as they have quite sensitive skin.

Your puppy’s hair will change to adult hair somewhere between 9 and 18 months of age. You can tell that it’s adult hair as it will be thicker and very curly. In addition to daily brushing, adult hair should be trimmed at least every 6-8 weeks. It is better to go to a professional groomer who has experience with Standard Poodle hair.

When taken care of properly, this breed can live for at least 12 to 15 years. This is important to note because getting one is thus a long-term commitment. They do not remain cute and small forever, either. They become cute, full-grown adults growing to be at least 40-60 pounds. So if you’re looking for a small dog, this is not the breed for you. If you’d like to know more about this breed as an adult to see if a puppy would suit your family, we would be happy to help!

What type of puppy we have available

The type of puppies we have available is always changing. We strive to breed responsibly and make sure our Standard Poodle puppy parents are happy and healthy. Check on our social media pages to see what puppies were recently born and when they’ll be able to go home with you.

If you are curious about what a puppy will look like or how the puppy will act, a good way to find out is to interact with the parents. Like humans, puppies inherit personality traits and looks from their parents. Puppies change so much as they grow, so looking at their parents will help you see what your puppy may be like. Though the puppy’s personality and size will change, their color will not.

The great thing about a Standard Poodle puppy is that they come in a variety of colors. A puppy could be black, white, a black and white pattern, grey, brown, red, blue, apricot, silver, sable, or cream. Though the puppy’s color does not determine what type of personality the puppy has, choosing the color of your puppy can make the experience of getting your pet to be more personalized and special.
