We take care of our poodles’ parents and take pride in raising them as well as their puppies. Poodles for SaleThe standard Poodle is an excellent poodle breed because they are known for being super friendly, smart, and loyal. While most dogs are known as “man’s best friend,” a Standard Poodle really can be your best friend, man or woman. Since they are loyal, Poodles become attached to their owners and family. Poodles may be shy around strangers but warm up quickly to friendly people due to the Poodles’ friendly nature.

The Standard Poodle breed is one of the easiest breeds to train, even as puppies, because of how intelligent they are. A Standard Poodle is also known to be obedient even though the Poodle could outsmart other dogs. The combination of intelligence and obedience makes poodles easy to train at home on your own. If you would rather get your Poodle puppies professionally trained instead, we can offer excellent, trust-worthy trainer recommendations based in Dallas who specialize in training poodles.

One issue that many dog owners have is how much fur their puppies and dog shed. The great news with Poodles is that they don’t have fur! Poodles actually have hair, quite similar to humans’ hair. This means that your Poodle won’t shed as much as other dogs, but will lose some hair just like humans do. This will keep your house furless without needing to constantly clean.

Since Poodles do have hair, it needs to be brushed, just as ours does. This will help prevent your poodles’ hair from getting tangled and matted. You can do this from home, but may want to go to a professional groomer every month or two to get your Poodles’ hair trimmed

Since Poodles have hair and not fur, this makes them hypoallergenic, meaning they are less likely to cause an allergic reaction among your family. This is a great reason to consider Poodle puppies as you may not know if you have a dog allergy or not. If you’ve never been around dogs, it is hard to tell whether you have an allergy, these types of allergies can also be developed later in life. You don’t need to worry about this with Poodles since they are hypoallergenic.

One more unique thing about Poodles’ hair is that it is water-resistant and acts as a thermal insulator. This means that Poodles use their hair to warm themselves up, and if you like going to the beach or the lake, your Poodles can definitely go with you! Poodles also have webbed paws that make them great swimmers to make playing fetch with them even more exciting.

Are Poodles the right puppy for you?

While a Poodle is a great, versatile companion, many people don’t realize how long a poodle can live. In a healthy environment, Poodles can live for 12 to 15 years. In most families’ case, this is great! Poodles’ longevity means they can grow from a puppy to an adult along with the children in the family.

But, this means that Poodles are a big, long-term commitment. Though you may not know where you’re going to be or what your life is going to look like in 12 to 15 years, if you think you cannot keep a dog for that long, then, unfortunately, a Poodle is not right for you.

Similarly, Poodle puppies grow up to be quite big dogs. Adult Standard Poodles at their shoulders measure 15 inches and up, typically around 22 inches. The male Poodles will also weigh about 40 to 70 pounds, and female Poodles will weigh slightly less.

While Poodles are very friendly and would not intentionally hurt your children, poodles sometimes don’t realize how big they are. So, poodles may jump up on you or your children and try to sit in your laps despite their size. Poodles want to be as close to their owner as possible. If you have small children and this is a concern for you, poodle puppies may not be the right choice for you. No matter how cute they look when they’re small, Poodles will get bigger.
